Auroville has so much more to offer than meets the eye at first glance; it is all about a different way of living and receiving the world. Depending on how much time you are planning to spend at Auroville, there are different possibilities.
The Auroville Visitors Centre is a place where day visitors and guests can begin to discover and learn about Auroville, its ideals, history and present-day manifestation, housed in a complex of buildings that include exhibitions, information and guest reception, boutiques for Auroville products and handicrafts, a bookshop, cafes and a food court.
Savitri Bhavan is a centre of education based on the vision and teachings of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. Its purpose is to gather all kinds of materials and activities that will foster knowledge and understanding of the lives, work and vision of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother and the aims and ideals of Auroville, and make them available to the interested general public.
For 20 years, the Pavilion has been a major host of Auroville’s activities, such as lectures, workshops, art exhibitions, cultural events, Tibetan festivals, student exchanges, vocational training and Tibetan medicine consultations, as well as an annual Light Mandala on New Year’s Eve.
At Solitude Farm, Auroville, we have been celebrating the rich local cuisine, community, and culture, as a way to honour Mother Earth. By implementing permaculture techniques, practising natural farming, and using natural resources while preserving traditional knowledge, we have been demonstrating a road back to nature.
The Botanical Garden (or Jardin Botanique) in Pondicherry was established to be an elegant French garden. It’s a quiet and calming retreat for you to relax and beat the scorching heat.

Entry ticket price: Free for children who are below 130cm in height. For adults, it is 20 rupees per head and for foreigners who are above 5 years old, it is 50 rupees per head.
Quiet Healing Center offers a wide range of natural treatments and a variety of aquatic bodywork like Watsu®, Woga® & OBA®, massage & health related courses and workshops; along with rooms for long or short term stay to guests and Auroville residents. Quiet is a place to relax, rejuvenate, recharge and heal; a place to discover deep contentment, inner peace and joy.
Matrimandir Inner Chamber : The Inner Chamber is now open to visitors every morning except Tuesday & Sunday. Booking on an individual level is required. Reporting time for all visitors is 8.30 am. We request you to book only if you can reach by or before that time.
